By definition from an article I read by Bruce Hoffman http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/h/hoffman-terrorism.html, he describes terrorism as “ violence — or, equally important, the threat of violence — used and directed in pursuit of, or in service of, a political aim.”
Even more so the FBI describes terrorism as ”There is no single, universally accepted, definition of terrorism. Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85). ”
Nobody would ever think “terrorism” as per the popular belief of the definition would reside in America? We have freedom of speech no? Do we not have a say as to what happens in our on government? For we were to believe America is for the people, and that we have certain unalienable rights. Needless to say what I find interesting is this.
Just recently there was a bill passed by Obama, the National Defense Authorization Act, or the NDAA. “The National Defense Authorization Act greatly expands the power and scope of the federal government to fight the War on Terror, including codifying into law the indefinite detention of terrorism suspects without trial. Under the new law the US military has the power to carry out domestic anti-terrorism operations on US soil.”
So in the simplest of words, if terrorism is but to merely speak out towards the government, be it by force or protest, for political change, and if the NDAA /military can carry out operations on US soil that can detain suspects without trial, then doesn’t that take away a sense of freedom?
But of course nothing but so serious can happen in America right? I mean yes we have a bad economy right now, ie Occupy WallStreet or everywhere for that matter. And yes we just jumped over the SOPA hill, but what can really happen?
Lets take a look at a recent video as seen on WSHH; http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhNol1lDnoJjB7jjrK….
The video speaks for itself.
Honestly, its not necessarily difficult to put both things together, its actually more difficult to swallow that everyday, slowly but surely, the place in which we call home is starting to kick us into a whole new different kind of brave new world. These are mostly my thoughts, and opinions to what I see happening in “our” world. I call it our world, because as the aliens we are waiting arent hear yet, and the animals we all know and love cannot seem to talk, we are accountable to what goes on here. Love, peace, hope is all there can be, but we live in a life of balance, lest we be prepared for everything else of the opposite….
