At times I find the fact that there is a month dedicated to black history simply preposterous. Our ancestors fought for equality, to show that African Americans show just as much importance to the development of America as any other race. We need not to be angry but merely proud and courageous daily through our on going achievement as a culture. To merely contain ourselves in a month and neglect the rest of the year is ignorance.
As far as I am concerned there is neither black nor white, for we all are human, and as our Constitution implies, “one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all”. We should no longer have prejudice, but merely enjoy and appreciate the efforts of all society that we have come this far. That it would merely be impossible to make it this far with out each other. To hate is to show cowardliness.
Indeed we shall not forget out past. Our past plays a vital part to our success, and should be appreciated in its rightful merit. There is plenty of history year round that can be celebrated, and the only ones we have to blame is ourselves. Celebrate life, and existence of all people. Except the differences, and lay aside the ego that we undeniably bare.
